Ram Charan has reached another milestone in his film career as his latest sports action drama Peddi has made it into the top 5 share-grossing films in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It has been directed by Buchi Babu Sana and has received mixed reviews in the home market.

Peddi was released on 4 June 2026 and received very good advance booking followed by the box office in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film reached its breakeven target of ₹135 crore share in only 10 days which made it one of the biggest commercial successes in the Telugu film industry this year.
Trade estimates suggest that Peddi has now collected an AP/TG share of around ₹168 crore and overtaken Prabhas’ Salaar in the regional share rankings. With this achievement, the film now ranks as the fifth among the highest share earners in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The films ahead of Peddi are currently the movies like RRR, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Kalki 2898 AD. That the movie has been selected in that elite list is a major achievement when to get into this tier list is appreciated as it is a testament to the huge popularity of the film with Telugu audiences.
Ram Charan plays the lead role alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Shiva Rajkumar in Peddi. A sports-based action drama, Peddi is a mixture of emotional storytelling and big-budget commercial elements that is very much family-oriented as well as action entertainment.
While the film’s regional box office performance has been widely celebrated, there’s still talk about its worldwide box office performance. Trade analysts have given various estimates on the worldwide gross; they vary between ₹332 crore and ₹400 crore. The uncertainty has led to debates on social media and box office trackers.
Ram Charan's fans felt Peddi's performance also proved to them that the actor can get the box office lionised and the film has been very successful in Telugu states. The film did it with higher ticket prices and against more competition from other movies and the film got all the way to the top when compared to other movies.
Also, Salaar supporters argue that while Peddi might have dominated it in AP/TG share collections, Salaar remains a stronger performer in terms of overall pan-India and international box office earnings. That has fueled lively comparisons between the two films across fan communities.
But despite these debates, Peddi's commercial success in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is undeniable. It has also cemented Ram Charan’s position as one of the most popular actors in Telugu cinema with the highest share grossing among all films.
