Earlier this year, the Supreme Court declined to grant Darshan bail in the Renukaswamy murder case, and Karnataka authorities were told to expedite the trial by examining 60 key witnesses within one year. The actor could now apply for bail again if there was no significant progress in the trial after that period.
Darshan then moved an application seeking clarification or amendment of the order. As reported by the newspaper, he wished that the one-year observation would not prevent him from approaching the courts in exceptional circumstances (medical or humanitarian reasons).
