The latest Evil Dead franchise movie Evil Dead Burn is finally in the cinemas and it has all the blood-soaked horror, terrifying Deadites and brutal jump scares which fans have come to expect from the series.
Directed by Sébastien Vaniček, the 2026 supernatural horror film is the sixth film in the long-running series and is the direct sequel to Evil Dead Rise (2023).
Many of the best-known, darkly supernatural horror and extreme gore are in this generation’s Evil Dead. Evil Dead Burn builds on that tradition with disturbing images and a tense survival story that has already generated a lot of discussion online.
What is Evil Dead Burn?
The film tells the story of a widow who would like to have a family reunion at a secluded lakeside estate but when the family meets demonic Deadites their dreams are scuttled.
As supernatural forces take over, the already strained relationships of the family are placed to break down, and the family goes to war for survival in a nightmare fight for survival.
The movie is psychological tension in a big way with the usual mix of gruesome practical effects, shocking violence and supernatural chaos in the franchise.
There is a lot of love for the Gore, but critics are split.
Early audience reactions have been mostly positive, with many fans praising the film for staying true to the franchise’s roots.

But those who are sensitive to graphic violence, disturbing imagery or excessive gore will find the film difficult to watch.
Evil Dead Burn is another good addition to one of the genre’s most recognizable franchises for horror fans who want to see a blood-soaked theatrical experience; Evil Dead Burn should be a good one.
