These images of him looking at misty hills, lush green fields and rain-soaked landscapes are a lot of the best known as his next war drama, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.
Salman Khan is seen in his rugged look in the photos and is wearing a rough outfit out and around the misty mountains and valleys with the surrounding landscape and the beautiful valleys behind him. The visuals instantly grabbed people’s eye as well. Many social media users were quick to react to Salman Khan’s physical appearance, with comments like “60 years old? No way!” going viral.
Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, one of the most significant military confrontations between India and China in recent years. Salman Khan is playing Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the Indian Army officer who was posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra for his bravery during the Galwan conflict.
Chitrangada Singh also plays a key part in that film and aims to present an emotional as well as action-packed story of courage, sacrifice and patriotism. While the makers have kept most of the plot details under wraps, the project already has created quite a bit of interest with Salman Khan’s presence.
The journey of Maatrubhumi has not been without problems. The film has also had production delays (reshoots and title change) in its making. The project also had an emotional disappointment after actor Prashant Tamang died. The team did not give up on the film; they did not quit till post-production was done.
Industry sources say that the filmmakers are looking at an August 2026 theatrical release, with the Independence Day holiday in mind. It’s predicted that there’s going to be a release around the national holiday and it will have such a national holiday theme and it will have a lot of people out there.
The actor’s latest social media post has only fueled expectation, so the monsoon image could be a teaser for the movie. Some people speculated it was related to another project, but we haven’t officially told the company what the photographs are about.
