Bihar actor Pankaj Tripathi’s elder brother, Vijayendranath Tiwari, was allegedly attacked with an axe and seriously injured in Bihar’s Gopalganj district. The accused was arrested and a probe was launched into the incident. The attack took place on 21 June in Belsand Tiwari Tola, which falls under Madhopur Police Station. It was a dispute over land, police officials said.

Attack connected to the land dispute
First investigations suggest that tensions between the victim and a neighbour escalated over a property-related dispute.
Police identified the accused as Rajesh Sah of the same locality. Sah attacked Vijayendranath Tiwari with an axe during the dispute, causing serious injuries, police said.
Local police were notified and rushed to the scene immediately after the incident, they said.
Police Launch Investigation
After receiving information about the attack, senior officers, including the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar-2 and the Madhopur Station House Officer, reached the village and began an investigation.
Due to the seriousness of the assault, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was assigned to examine the scene and collect evidence.
Evidence Recovered
Police said they have recovered:
The axe allegedly used in the attack. Blood-stained clothes believed to have been worn by the accused. Additional forensic evidence from the scene. Investigators are reviewing the evidence in the investigation and will continue to do so.
Victim Undergoing Treatment
Vijayendranath Tiwari was first taken to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for emergency treatment after the injury. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors later referred him to Patna for advanced medical care. Police and medical officials said that his condition is now stable and under control.
Accused Arrested
Police have confirmed the arrest of Rajesh Sah in connection with the case. They said the process of taking the accused into judicial custody is on its way and further legal action is now being taken. Law and order in the area is still normal, the police say.

Pankaj Tripathi was born in Belsand village in Bihar's Gopalganj district to Pandit Benares Tiwari and Hemwanti Tiwari. The celebrated actor is the youngest out of four siblings. He has two elder brothers, Vijayendranath Tiwari and an elder sister, Sabita Tiwari.
Tripathi changed his name from Tiwari to Tripathi during his school years. He is now married to Mridula Tripathi, and the couple has one daughter, Aashi.The incident has drawn attention because Tripathi is popular in the film industry but police have said it seems like a local land dispute and is being handled according to law.
