Dhamaal 4 remains true to the genre of popular comedy with slapstick humour, adventurous twists and a lot of laugh-out-loud moments in it. The movie is not realistic and yet it is so funny and it is a good experience for all for a lighthearted escape.
The first half is filled with hilarious scenes bringing life to the story and the second half has more stuff going on and the third half gets more action in with larger sets and more chaos. The ending brings an emotional element to the otherwise madcap adventure too. And people can just take in the fun and not try to figure it out, they just go with it.
Indra Kumar brings together comedy, treasure hunting, fantasy, horror, and action in this one. Pirates, mysterious locations and even wild animals (octopus, crocodile, tiger, and snake) are all part of the franchise's trademark chaos. The screenplay always shocks the audience with new revelations and new things to see and there are very few dull moments in the movie.
Most of the humour works at least, but a few jokes didn’t work as well as we would like to see it. Some of the funniest scenes— ghosts in particular— would have made a lot more impact or been more impactful (or creative) but not as well executed. But these minor issues are of little consequence to the film’s entertainment value as the writing keeps the pace alive and the comedy going throughout the movie.
Ajay Devgn again shows his versatility through action and comedy on the show. His chemistry with Sanjay Mishra is also good. The two have had a few really good comic moments through their timing.
The beloved Adi and Manav are back and Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi are back into their roles with ease. Their camaraderie is one of the film's biggest highlights. Sanjeeda Shaikh is also present and brings her own strong presence to the group and fits in right into the franchise's comic world.
Riteish Deshmukh has one of the strongest character arcs in the film and is very good especially on the emotional climax. Anjali Anand also has a great role and brings some kind of humour to the film. Ravi Kishan, Upendra Limaye and Vijay Patkar are good in the film but the most successful actors are Ravi Kishan and Upendra Limaye in their hilarious roles.
The revamped versions of popular songs “Gulabi Saree” and “Chatni” work into the film with a lot of energy to keep it going.
Dhamaal 4 is an all-in-one family entertainment with lots of laughter, adventure, and emotion. The franchise fans will love this latest episode - it’s the sort of carefree, feel-good entertainment that Dhamaal is known for.
